OTA for sugarsweeteclair by maybelletea OTA for sugarsweeteclair by maybelletea
I "adopted" a couple characters lately and I think I'm just gonna put them all together in this weird story where really random characters come together, like a crossroads in space/dimensions?? LOL I don't know. I would never make adopts main characters of mine bc they aren't really... mine? They're not OCs, I didn't create them originally. But since I "own" a few now it's kind of fun and it'll be fun to draw them.

I participated in an "offer to adopt" and won this girl: sta.sh/027q71ddpnl3 designed by :iconsugarsweeteclair: who you should all go check out bc her designs are super precious.
I offered a watercolor sketch and she wanted her two cute lil gay bbs so here they are!!

Agh, these are adorable!! I'm so sorry I'm only seeing these now!! ;A; I'm kinda just looking through peoples galleries to cheer myself up, and your art never fails Tori. ;w;
You draw the most beautiful kisses, it's really heartwarming to see. :heart:
That crossroads idea sounds really fun, I'd definitely love to see that!

Omg, that makes me so happy Michael for real. I'm really glad my art can make you feel better, if only a tiny bit.
Thank you. <3

Yeah, I think it's something odd/amusing I can do with characters I wouldn't really use much otherwise!

Ahww, I'm really glad, you've been really supportive, and it means the world. :hug:
When I see art with such genuine and warm emotion I can't help but smile.
^w^

It sounds really fun, and yeah, it's a great way to bring other characters into focus! :meow:
I'm thinking of maybe adding other characters as guests to Holly and Mistletoes wedding reception... I like to think that after their stories are over all of my characters hang out, like as if they're all part of a big production company, all working on different shows! XD It started with this: fav.me/d7cyhqz I think. XD

I do think the whole idea of adoptions is kind of cute, still, I doubt I would ever make a good use of such an adoptable. I'm not comfortable with the option of claiming as mine something I didn't originally invent. Besides, I wouldn't want anyone to use any of my ideas as theirs :XD: *extremely protective*

But this crossroads idea sounds really neat! :la: You could also use the adoptables as side characters when you lack ideas for them. When I write something, I often borrow my friend's OCs for a five-minutes performance. I don't even change their names or appearances - she knows it's them anyway :XD:

I know what you mean omg... I still think it's really a bizarre thing- I would never pay actual money for an adoptable, only points I've gotten and art. So I only ever look for offer to adopts. Or draw to adopts, where you draw the character in order to "win" them (which I haven't done, I wouldn't do it unless I saw one I rly loved).

Hahaha that's funny! I can't put them into any of my actual original stories tho omg it would feel wrong. Buuuut I'm just gonna create some giant weird story with them all in it.

I am of the same opinion! I mean, I know the whole adoptable thing basically works similarly to what people do in real life, where a company hires an artist to design something for them, and they get all the rights of using it. Just the opposite way. Still, none of us is such a company. We're all artists - and paying another artist for their design... Nah, it's not for me. It's all different thing when you're a writer and pay someone to draw an illustration of your character or a scene from your story (or the other way round, when you ask someone to write about your OCs). I just don't see the point of buying designs when you can draw something yourself. And designing skills can be improved, too. Mine aren't perfect and I can't draw many things I would want my OCs to have / be equipped with, but... At least it's 100% mine D:

If you don't mind sharing, I'd love to see what comes out of this experiment :la: I remember a colleague of mine throwing characters from different mangas into one world, years ago. Not sure how it looked like - they were kind of "called" by some force into one castle or something.

I know, I guess that's why people do "custom" adoptables. But on a site for artists, it's just weird bc you think one would be creative enough to just... come up with something...? I am shocked that people pay so much for adoptables. It's really awful, actually, and I don't feel sorry for the people who are wasting their money bc it's their idiotic decision but god it just makes me angry. People literally pay hundreds of dollars sometimes and it's infuriating.
cough sushi dogs cough

I totally understand.
Of course!! I'll post them together and update my progress! It's gonna be an interesting/fun mix bc here is what I have so far: sta.sh/220t01cpu7j

OMG I know! When I first saw sushi dogs adoptables so extremely expensive, I actually couldn't believe anybody would pay so much for an adoptable... I mean, they are well designed (I just found their feature chart and am really impressed) and the author is very skillful, still - I wish I had so much money to just spend it on adoptables and not care about their price ;_;

You're perfectly right. One would think that if you call yourself an artist, you don't need anyone else to design characters for you... I love drawing others' OCs - I'm actually thinking of starting a project I called 'Deviations of Appreciation', where I would award my favourites with a free fanart - but... I have enough imagination for my own OCs, thank you.

That's an interesting mix indeed! The first thing that came to my mind was "geez, how are they even going to communicate?' - they're all not even the same species! You may want to consider it, the communication problem itself sounds like tons of fun to me.

No, girl, if you had that much money you shouldn't be freaking spending it on something like that. Just. Ugh. People. I don't understand. I saw someone spend 550 dollars. 550 DOLLARS. FOR A LITTLE DOG DESIGN THING????????
